Kings send Thunderhawks to 15th consecutive loss

Aiden Lucyk made 34 saves in the Dresden Kings’ 3-2 win over the Wallaceburg Thunderhawks on Friday in the Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Stobbs Division in Dresden.
Kenny Chisholm and Tyler Fish each had a goal and an assist for the Kings (6-11-0-1) before a crowd of 237 at the Ken Houston Memorial Agricultural Centre.
Tanner Cole also scored for the Kings, who never trailed. Chisholm’s goal put them ahead 3-1 midway through the third period.
Stone Jacobs and Josh Gibbs scored in the 15th consecutive loss for the Thunderhawks (1-15-0-1).
Nolan Hakr of Chatham made 42 saves in his Thunderhawks debut after being acquired from the Lakeshore Canadiens.
The Kings will visit the Amherstburg Admirals on Sunday. The Thunderhawks will host the Wheatley Omstead Sharks at 8 p.m. Saturday at Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.
Blades shut out by Canadiens
Romano Liburdi had a 22-save shutout in the Canadiens’ 6-0 win over the Blenheim Blades in Lakeshore.
Blades goalie Chris Dewulf made 35 saves.
Ex-Kings forward Brendan Ritchie had a goal and an assist in his debut with the first-place Canadiens (16-2-0-0), who led 2-0 after two periods. They scored four in the third in a span of 3:26.
Jake Nimmo scored two. Eric Larue, Tycen Chittle and Jarrett Tazzman added singles.
The Blades (6-9-1-1) will host the Essex 73’s at 7 p.m. Sunday at Blenheim Memorial Arena.
