This marked Lindsay’s third season racing. After purchasing his own car, Lindsay worked to refurbish it before he started racing.

He began his career by being named rookie of the year in 2017. In that rookie season he placed fourth in the overall championship.

“I’ve been focusing on driving and car development since then,” said Lindsay about his rookie season. “The driving aspect is the biggest thing though, working on the performance of myself.”

The 2018 season saw Lindsay place second in the championship, and become the recipient of the Spirit of Gord Lowe Award, which is given to a driver that supports others and shows sportsmanlike conduct.

Lindsay is able to run and repair his own car with the help of his father. He said there is an added amount of excitement when he is able to win a race in his own car that they’ve worked on together.

“My father is awesome at helping out,” said Lindsay. “He’s my crew chief, he helps with the car so I can spend my own time working on my performance.”

After winning the Class B Championship, Lindsay travelled to Wisconsin to compete in the East West Challenge at the Road America Track, which he won. He also finished fourth in the feature race.

“I won a lot of races and did quite well,” said Lindsay. “It was an exciting year, lots of fun.”

Lindsay said he reviews in-car video and statistics as a means to prepare for upcoming races.

“Driving is really all about concentration. When you’re driving there’s nothing else going on except what’s immediately in front of you,” said Lindsay. “You have to be able to not get caught up in your emotions while you’re driving.”

“I go through all of that data to figure out what I can do to perform better.“ said Lindsay.

Lindsay said he hasn’t decided which races he’ll be participating in, but he is looking forward to the opportunities that will arise.
