The Wolfpack (9-1) overcame an early deficit and powered to a 52-26 win over the Cumbrian side, who were promoted with the Wolfpack to the Betfred Championship from League One in 2017. Toronto is now 5-0-1 against the Raiders in all competitions.

Barrow (1-8-1) struck first five minutes in when Josh Johnson took advantage of a Wolfpack drop at their own 10-metre line. A few minutes later, the Wolfpack drop the ball close to the Barrow line. Stargroth Amean then offloaded to Deon Cross, who sprinted 60 metres to the Toronto line to give Barrow a 12-0 lead, delighting many of the 1,417 supporters who spent a sunny Good Friday at Craven Park.

Wallace’s second score came off a feed from Jon Wilkin and O’Brien matched him with a score between the sticks set up by a Ricky Leutele break. Anthony Mullally then assisted Wallace on his third try in a span of 24 minutes. The Wolfpack led 28-12 at halftime.

O’Brien completed his hat trick in the first minute of the second half. After that it was time to get some other folks on the scoresheet. Matty Russell scored on a 60-metre run. Andrew Dixon ran in from 10 metres out. And Andy Ackers scored from dummy half.

The Raiders got some consolation scores from Amean, Jarrad Stack and Tee Ritson.

The Wolfpack complete their Easter weekend against the Featherstone Rovers on Monday.

“We just need to recover well over the next two days,” O’Brien said. “It’s always hard coming back after a couple of days at Easter. So we just have to look after ourselves.”
